Privacy Policy

What Stevo collects, why, and how to delete it. Stevo records who owes whom; it never holds, moves, charges or pays out money.

1. Account Information

You create a Stevo account with an email address and a password. We store your email address so you can sign in and so we can send you account email such as a password-reset code. Sign-in is handled by our authentication service; the app never stores your password, and your session is kept in your device's secure storage.

2. Your Profile

When you set up your account you choose a username, a display name and an avatar, and you can add a short bio later. Your avatar is either one of our built-in icons or a photo you pick from your library; uploaded photos are held in the app's image storage and served over a public link so your friends' apps can display them. Your username, display name, bio and avatar are visible to other Stevo users.

3. Phone Number

We ask for your phone number when you set up your account. It is used so friends who already know your number can find you, and to keep one phone number tied to one account. It is never shown to other users and is never returned by a search; looking someone up by number returns only their username, display name and avatar. Changing your number sends a one-time code by SMS to confirm it. Stevo does not read your phone's contacts.

4. Payment Handles

You can optionally save a Venmo username, a Cash App cashtag, a PayPal handle, a Zelle email or phone, and an Apple Cash phone number, along with which of them you prefer. These are shown to a friend you are settling up with so they can open that app and pay you there. Stevo never asks for and never stores card numbers, bank account details or a balance, and no money moves through the app.

5. Your Activity in Stevo

We store what you create in the app: bets and their outcomes, Face Offs, poker games and season standings, crews and crew posts, your friend list and your settle-up records. This activity is visible to the friends and crew members you share it with.

6. Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device on your profile so we can send alerts about bets, games, crews and settling up. You can turn categories off in Settings, and signing out removes the token from your profile.

7. Microphone and Voice Input

If you tap the microphone to speak a bet instead of typing it, your device's built-in speech recognition turns what you say into text. Stevo keeps only the text you go on to use; it does not record, upload or store audio.

8. Diagnostics

When the app hits an error it sends us a diagnostic record so we can fix it: the error message and stack trace, where in the app it happened, the app version and build number, whether you are on iOS or Android, and your user id.

9. How We Use Your Information

We use it only to run the features described above and to keep the app working. We do not sell or rent your data, we show no ads, and the app carries no third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Stevo records who owes whom; it never holds, moves, charges or pays out money.

10. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account, profile, activity and uploaded images are held in a hosted database and file storage operated for us by a third-party infrastructure provider, and are transmitted over encrypted connections.

11. Age Requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to use Stevo. The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app: Settings, then Delete account. Deleting removes your name, username, photo, bio, phone number, payment handles, push token, friend list, invites and diagnostic records, and stops you signing in. It is immediate and cannot be undone. Records that other people share with you — a settled bet, a poker game, a crew post — are kept for them, with your name replaced by "Deleted user". Deletion is blocked while you still have an unsettled balance with someone, because that money is owed between the two of you. You can also email support@stevoapp.com and we will delete the account for you.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date below shows when it was last revised.
